SeanSweeneyAuthor.com is proud to announce the release of the author's 14th novel, COLD ALTAR, a mystery novel set in Sean's hometown of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. It is the first novel in the Alex Bourque/Small Town PI series.
"COLD ALTAR is the first in a new foray for me," the author told his website recently. "We have a young, inquisitive private investigator looking into a heinous crime that his father, a cop, couldn't solve, so it's an interesting start to a new series."
COLD ALTAR begins with Alex setting up his new office. A woman walks in and offers him the chance to solve a 31-year-old cold case: the kidnapping and subsequent murder of James Sullivan, a boy of 11 years old. And there is very little in the way of evidence that will help Alex solve the crime.

Leo DeCatrio and Carrie R. Pigeon (pronounced Pee-zhawn) are a pair of anthropomorphic -- read: bipedal -- cat and bird crime fighters in the city of Pawston, Meowsachusetts. They are private investigators based out of Harborside House, and they are former members of the Pawston Police.
Yet they have alter egos -- they are Furball and Feathers, the Commendable Critters.
Their first documented case: The cat food stores at the only Cat Food Bank in Pawston have been stolen, and with the amount of crime in Pawston, the police are unable to handle this case. Max Doggenheimer, the chief of police, brings Lola Katnip to Leo and Carrie's door.
"This book is a fun read for youngsters aged 7 to 11," Sean told his website. "There's nothing more exciting for a youngster than to read a picture-less book, like the kind that mommy and daddy read."

SeanSweeneyAuthor.com is proud to announce the release of Sean's 13th novel, EMINENT SOULS, a not your usual run-of-the-mill historical romance set in 1953-1961/63 Boston.
"I'm pleased to finally let EMINENT SOULS find the readers," Sean told his website. "This is a special book for me in many ways. It's not just about the romance aspects between two people: It's mainly about the love two people share for a certain section of their city, as it is the place where they met."
The book opens in June 1953 as two women drag co-protagonist Carleen Phillips to Scollay Square, the once-bright entertainment district for the city of Boston that, at this point in history, has seen better days. It is here in Scollay Square that Carleen first gazes on Joe Cafario, a singer with the Scollay Square Six. They meet in person the next day, putting aside the memories of past loves as their relationship blossoms.
But as in every story, there's someone out to thwart the young couple -- in this case, it's Carleen's father. He sends her away to school in order to keep the two lovebirds apart.
Joe and Carleen reunite in 1961 -- just as the city of Boston reveals plans to do away with Scollay Square and replace it with Government Center.
